We are committed to the wellbeing of students

A supportive structure is in place for all students. There are individual wellbeing plans for each Year Level, which form a cohesive, comprehensive whole school approach to wellbeing driven by a preventative approach. To enhance learning, the emphasis of the wellbeing plan is to address the issues, challenges, decisions and responsibilities that our students face on a daily basis and to empower all our girls to make the right choices.

The College employs fully qualified student counsellors who works in collaboration with the Student Wellbeing Team consisting of: the Heads of School and the Year Level Team Leaders. Together there is a team approach to the management of student issues.

The College has in place policies that are actively promoted to provide a harassment-free environment for all members of the school community.

In line with Catholic Education Commission of Victoria, Ave Maria College is committed to ensuring a safe and nurturing culture for all young people in Catholic schools. To read more see CECV Commitment Statement to Child Safety and Child Safety Policy.

The College's wellbeing work is guided by the key document Creating and Maintaining a Positive Learning Environment (C.A.M.P.L.E.). In addition in 2017, the College introduced a Learner Attributes Program to promote and develop diverse, yet inter-connected learner skills. A summary of the Learner Attributes processes can be found HERE.
