From 1 January 2021 Ave Maria College joined to the Melbourne Archdiocese of Catholic Schools (MACS).
The MACS constitution states the College, through the Parish Priest, Principal and School Advisory Council, will have responsibility to collaborate and continue to build up Catholic schools as faith-filled learning communities.
At Ave Maria College the newly established School Advisory Council will continue to serve and lead our community.
School Advisory Council
The School Advisory Council plays an important role in supporting the work of the Principal by:
- Promoting the school’s Catholic ethos and culture
- Articulating and enacting the School’s vision and mission
- Promoting faith formation and development
- Capital resource planning and maintenance
- Disseminating information about the School in accordance with these School Advisory Council terms of reference
- Implementing School policies as required
- Supporting and communicating School and parish matters, including approval of the School annual report
- Giving advice on issues such as enrolments, School improvement plans and enrolment trends
The Ave Maria College School Advisory Council has the following membership:
- Executive Officers – Parish Priest and Principal
- Parents – up to 5 current parents
- Alumnae – up to one past Ave Maria College student
- Co-Opted members – up to 3 co-opted members with particular areas of expertise
- In attendance – Deputy Principal and Business Member
