Model United Nations Assembly (MUNA) 2019
01 May 2019
Congratulations to Michelle Shaaya and Mia Ranalletta for representing Iraq and Ave Maria College so well at MUNA last weekend. Sponsored by Essendon North Rotary both students showed brilliant skills in debating, critical thinking and learnt a great deal about global issues.
As a country Michelle and Mia were successful in amending a resolution that held Saudi Arabia accountable and put a peace process into the Yemen conflict.
Model United Nations Assembly (MUNA) is a Rotary District project designed to create an awareness of the role of the United Nations in mediating international issues. It’s purpose is to encourage young people to learn about other nations and to understand and appreciate the workings of the United Nations while they develop debating skills and gain self confidence in public speaking.
