Principal Announcement

23 July 2019

On behalf of Fr Tony Feeney, President of the Delegated Canonical Administrators of Ave Maria College who is currently on annual leave, I wish to announce that Elizabeth Hanney is the successful candidate for Principal at Siena College, Camberwell, to begin in 2020.

On behalf of my fellow Delegated Canonical Administrators I wish to acknowledge Elizabeth’s outstanding and dedicated leadership in her time as Principal of Ave Maria College. Many highlights come to mind during her time at Ave Maria College including the new leadership structure, a massive undertaking and completion of a major building program, her capacity to build strong school and communal relationships, her pursuit of excellence in learning and teaching and the significant religious and Franciscan developments throughout the College – just to mention a few.

Fr Tony and I fully understand and support Elizabeth’s decision to take up this new Principal appointment at Siena College.  We can take great comfort knowing that Elizabeth leaves the College in a position of great strength for her successor, and though we will miss her dearly, we look forward to working with Catholic Education Melbourne and the Archdiocese of Melbourne to ensure we find the best available person to continue the great work happening here at Ave Maria. We acknowledge the strong leadership and work of dedicated staff which enables this.

I wish Elizabeth the very best in her new role in 2020.

Peter Devery

Canonical Administrator
