Sayembara Lisan Speaking Competition
Earlier this Term, a number of students studying Indonesian at Years 7 and 8 took part in the Sayembara Lisan Speaking Competition which was held at Overnewton College.
Students were required to complete three sections which included responding to general conversation questions; reading aloud a prepared paragraph based on a particular theme; and finally students were asked a series of questions based on the theme they had researched prior to the competition.
There were a number of ave Maria College students who performed to an exceptional standard and were chosen to attend the 2018 State Finals which took place on Saturday, 2 June at Melbourne University.
The finalists were: Lourdes Harb, Jade Dalla-Fontana, Amy Marazita, Piper Mollica, Ocean Ho, Lauren Harb and Tara Burke.
From this group, Lauren Harb (pictured) was awarded Second Prize in the Continuing Section at the Awards night held at the University of Melbourne.
